We envision becoming churches with a heart to plant churches. We need to see lost people the same way God does. A church with a heart to reach people will see the need to work together, using their gifts to bring people into a personal relationship with Christ - then training them to be Christ-followers. We face the realities of a growing population in the cities within our district. The multiplication of new churches is essential. In the United States the number of evangelical churches is growing at a rate far less than the population growth. We are notevenreaching our children and youth. Our country is now the third largest unchurched mission field in the world with 195 million persons who are not part of any church. We need different kinds of churches to reach different kinds of people all over the United States. In the South Atlantic District, we are committed helping your church be part of reaching people for Christ. New churches have a kind of life and vitality attractive to the unchurched person and generally conversion rates are much higher in church plants then in established churches. |
